Hi all,

is there any way to configure UniMRCP to send TtS audio faster than
realtime?

This would reduce the delay in case the client buffers the incoming
audio as well.

Thanks,
Pirros

Hi Pirros,

You are not the first one looking for that. I actually introduced such
a configuration parameter a couple of years ago.

<media-engine id="Media-Engine-1">
<realtime-rate>1</realtime-rate>
</media-engine>

If you want to send RTP packets, for instance, 4 times faster than
real-time (or than they are supposed to be sent), set the following
parameter accordingly.

<realtime-rate>4</realtime-rate>

While I understand where this requirement comes from, hope you in turn
realize that this is just a workaround. The MRCP spec doesn't provide
such an option. And outgoing RTP stream will not comply with RFC3550.
Having said, you can use this parameter, if you really know what you
are doing.

Thanks Arsen!
I'm going to experiment with this, and see how it goes!
