This may be one of the only times that my noob perspective may be helpful,
so here goes....
You guys are the experts on this topic so the banners make sense to you,
however as an outsider I don't see anything there really compelling, and am
particularly confused about the line "and it's illegal".
I am with Jan and Ken about focusing on the data and privacy aspect. This
is actually the main reason I am personally considering turning my focus
from rails to JS: I am very excited about the possibilities of giving
people control of their data... but that is my personal interest.
Regardless, I hope you can understand that getting the perspective of
someone outside of your expertise can be helpful so you know how to talk to
the rest of the world. I have spent the past 6 years doing conversion
optimization consulting and this has proven useful time and time again.
