Dear Flutists,

Summer is just around the corner and St. Joseph's School of Music, St.
Paul, MN, is pleased to be offering a variety of lessons, classes and
workshops exploring music for flutists of all ages! The summer session

Flute Choir

For intermediate level flutists with one year or more of private study; grades 6-9
Develop your ensemble playing and practicing skills! Excellent preparation for full band and orchestra. this chamber group will address rhythm, breathing and pitch and
introduce students to the breathing bag and concepts from the Alexander Technique. Repertoire chosen by class level with a performance at the end of the session.

Mondays, 6-7 PM

Chamber Music

Playing in an ensemble is one of the most rewarding musical experiences
you can have. It is also a fun way to sharpen your skills! Ensembles
and available in a variety of instrumental combinations. Dates and
times are determined by individual group coaches.

8 coachings, 45 minutes each.

Performance opportunity at end of term.

Improv 101

A class for intermediate and advanced woodwind and brass players - and novice improvisers!
Breaks down the skills needed to be a good improviser, building your
confidence in many styles of music - classical, jazz and blues. You
will learn how this kind of creative work helps your playing reach the
next level.

Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00

Creative Classics Camps
Ages 6-10
Kids will explore classical works through movement, art and theater. Encourages imagination, focused listening and creative play. No prior music training required but complements any current study.
