Short and simple question - is there a reason why "/umbraco/default.aspx" does a Server.Transfer to "/umbraco/umbraco.aspx"?

Following up on my own question...

I assume the change was made with the decision to change the back-office from being a pop-up window.
Guessing another reason is to keep the back-office URL as "/umbraco/" instead redirecting to "/umbraco/umbraco.aspx"?

If the preference is for "/umbraco/", then should we move the code/logic/markup into "/umbraco/default.aspx" and redirect to it from "/umbraco/umbraco.aspx"?

Any thoughts, concerns?

Thanks,
- Lee

Sounds fine with me (and yes you're right about the legacy reasons for why it was done!)

Ace, I'll look into it, make sure there are no other underlying issues, etc.

Cheers,

I occasionally get issues with trying to navigate to http://www.site.com/umbraco/ when Directory URLs are on.  I think its generally with older versions, but it may be something to put in your test matrix ;)

Thanks,
Jason
