Almost Fire. Thermocouple Redundancy?

My Ultimaker started smoking badly when the temperature reading started to
drop. The heater kicked on high to compensate an error reading and the
whole hot end smoked. I was watching at the time and also have a monitored
smoke detector in place.
After a reset, I registered 385 degrees. A couple resets and re-homes

Latest version of Windows Cura crashing on big models ?

I installed the latest version of Cura this week and have notices that it
will not output a gcode for large complex models.
it just works and works for 30 minutes and then says... SOMETHING WENT
WRONG.....
The crazy thing is, when i put the models in older versions of Cura, it
works.
cant really understand why that would happen ??

So for anyone interested I want to share some of my expereinces from the
Erfurt 3D Print Show.

Ok lets just start off with mister VIP. Florian Horsch was like always a

Hi,
I'm printing only forn SD cards now, much better and reliable. But, I still
can't get my UM away from my computer,
because after a while, even though powered through mains, Ulticontroller
screen goes blank after a while.
Is it a firmware bug?
If not, would it be enough to feed 5v from a USB wall wart to the USB port

I printed it single walled, .2mm layer height, no infill, retraction
activated, and with joris activated
I thought if you print a single wall vase with Joris activated there is no
way a z axis seam could occur. The print still has rough bumps that go up

Hi,

i'm almost satisfied with printing quality, Circles are round, no layer
displacement or delamination. But yesterday ich printed something looking
like an omega symbol (Ω). 40mm in height, the upper round part was drawn
with 36mm in diameter. The print is almost perfect but theres one issue:

and thinking back to makerbots (i think) 1st shop with 3d prints int
here for sale.

its good to sell yer own stuff you design and print.

Bottom layer always always has strings between perimeters

Gosh the ultimaker has been great except for the damn strings. Why the hell
does this thing ooze so much.
My retraction settings are at 50mm/s at 5mm
But for some reason on the first layer between drawing the perimeters there
is always strings. Then when it goes to draw the infill, it has to draw on
