Dear All,

First off...a brief trip report.  This weekend we had a Brecon Beacons trip marked by highs and lows (highs - Mike's excellent Christmas dinner, two nice days of walking/climbing, and a chance to visit the local pub, lows - Joe's post-exam brain failure leading to leaving the hut keys in London and a resulting epic evening for the Cohen-mobile as well as the aforementioned chance for everyone else to go to the pub).  Many thanks to all of those who came, and particularly to those who cooked, drove, shopped, and led walks/climbing.

A personal thanks from myself for not getting out the pitchforks and lighting the torches as the lights of the Cohen-mobile eventually came into sight at 3 o'clock on Saturday morning...

Anyway, here's what's going on this week...

1. This Week

TUESDAY:

PUB QUIZ SOCIAL - we're trying our luck at the Prince of Wales pub quiz in Highgate.

The quiz starts at 9, but we'll be there from 8 to get our strategy sorted and get a table.

Details of the pub can be found here.

You can call me on 07985 932 713 if you can't find us or the pub...

THURSDAY:

CLIMBING SESSION: We'll be climbing at Mile End from about 7 (look out for the ULMC T-shirts.  The website is http://www.mileendwall.org.uk .  The easiest way to get there is from Mile End station (Central Line).  Check their website for further details.

Price-wise, the total registration/climbing fee/shoe hire will be £12 - possibly less for students so do make sure you have some ID on you.

Bring some comfortable clothes to climb in and rock shoes/harness if you have them - we'll be able to provide ropes and harness if you don't.

2.  ULMC club merch...

This is the first that our long suffering gear secretary will have heard of it, but we're going to put in an order for some club kit.

Prices TBC, but T-shirts about a tenner, and hoodies about £20.  Can come in almost any colour you like...

Email Simon (speeki...@gmail.com) if you're interested...

3.  FINALLY...

- You can join the club any time - help us get lots of ULU funding by having a lot of members!  Full details on the website.
- Don't forget to check out our website (www.ulmc.org) and facebook group()

See everyone this week!

Joe.
