To my pleasant surprise, I've discovered that GeSHi, at least in their
latest version, is distributing my rpmspec.php file. In other words, any
wiki extension using GeSHi as the syntax highlighter should work now.

Nope - that extension didn't have the features that I felt that we needed.
It just so happens that in the past, I had written a different extension
using GeSHi, so we are using that one. You can always check the details of

I would agree with KD on this one.
The motto for getting anything done around here is that you do the work
yourself and stop letting everyone's 2 cents and laziness kill the project.
If you have a good idea and a start on the mag, then run with it and get
people to submit stories, but if not and you're just throwing your 2 cents

Great job Jman and a very nice report too, I have been running a KDE4
install with a combo of the Unity & Synergy repos enabled in smart and
it's been pretty stable for me, although sometimes now it crashes

It's really not my script, I have just changed it to install synergy based
rpms, I think Matt did most of the work on it and it works well. At least
with 64bit. You can use my script as an example but stuff is going to need
to be changed, I'm trying to make that process easier. I have adopted the
unity task method that Matt was doing ie synergy-iso and synergy-desktop

Actually Jeremiah, I was hoping to integrate your script to mklivecd
to allow for creating isos from rpms for everyone who wants to. It is
also my intention to create final from rpms only too. I've been
delayed with trying to figure out the issue with nautilus or whatever
it is that's causing the hassle.

or hang out om the IRC channel and interview some of the users?
or look at the work Devnet put into the indexhtml page and expand on some of
what he wrote?

Well, I took a look at the extension that Devnet pointed out above and,
unfortunately, it did not have syntax highlighting rules for several
important languages that we use, not the least of which is RPM spec format.
So, since we were just missing a simple functionality of "Download Code"
link near the block of code, I have modified our present extension to add

I just mess things up everyone else just fixes them. In Arizona that's
what we're good at I hear from the media screwing up laws and trying
to force the government to fix it. Still at the very least I am proud
of my small wiki work and even my state :)
