hi, i was just posting this and remembered the time when Radio won the
sheep trial competition....which some of you may remember too [in
particular those of you whom Lasse and I had to confess all and tell
what really happened... ]. it happened here:

In any case, i know about the pointing differently at fur and feather,

Hey, my Cirrus far prefers scales to fur or feather. He lives to fish! If we go near any water, he's in it, and not because he wants to swim, but because he's fishing! He will fish for hours on end: in shallow water he struts to and fro, straining head downwards to scan the waters ahead, tail flagging excitedly from side to side. If he spies a fish, he pounces and plunges his head in. In deeper waters he swims around with the same arched neck and eyes fixed in a downward gaze. Every so often he snaps the water, which is never actually a fish, just seaweed or some other flotsam, but it's all very serious aqua-hunting business! As a Piscean we should not be surprised at his affinity with the scaly fin folk - it is, nevertheless, a strange passtime and instinct for a hunting dog.

hi Cath, is there a way to change pints to points on the heading? on
the old version it was easy to edit, i can't find it here? or is it
not possible? xA

Cirrus goes fishing!? and of course, why not, for really it'd be a
survival need and easy if near a stream full of, say, salmon.

i think if we lived near the sea Vigo'd be a fisher too. she had tons
of sardines and mackerel and bass, freshly caught....[by a real
fisherman though].

Flynn goes mad for flies. Running around the garden snapping at them
and then haring away after them if they get away.

When I say flies I should say that it's any flying insect. He gets
about 5 stings a summer so we always have pirotin in for these
times :lol:

fly pointing....that we have to try next spring! we could make a funny
pointer versatility calender for next year's welfare....pointing at
bins, flies, fish, sticks, stuffed bears....Andrea

recently moved to a more rural location and Charlie is adoring hunting
pheasants, rabbits, deer. It's amazing how he knew partridge without
ever having seen one before. HOWEVER...in order to familiarise him
with the look of the game he's scenting I've been pointing them out to
him e.g: "Charlie, toot-toot" (ahem) for pheasant with extended
finger pointing in the direction (he was used to hand signals
already). So now he's actually taking to looking at ME to point the
game....doh! Still, I don't see a shooting career in the near future

He, he, that reminds me of a photo I have here of Pash doing agility many moons ago. I was running him around a course and someone snapped us just as Pash was coming across the seesaw. This particular piece of equipment demands that the dog come down in a controlled fashion and touch the contacts at the bottom of the plank (the zones at the end, painted a bright colour) and to remind him to "touch" before launching off, I would point at it and say "touch it". Well, the photo shows Pash carefully descending and me doing a beautiful "point" with my outstretched finger. It became known to us as "the pointer" :-)))
