Obviously the GPS modules we use constitute a fairly sizable chunk of
the cost of the payload. I've been liasing with Alphamicro on pricing
which for reference are as follows (all priced ex VAT) :
NEO-6Q-0 1-49 £19.13
NEO-6Q-0 50+ £12.75
MAX-6Q-0 1-49 £18.78
MAX-6Q-0 50+ £12.52
As you will note there is a fairly sizable difference when you
purchase in bulk, however this does require someone to fork out
£751.20 + delivery. I've had a chat with my accounts department (they
kept me in check) and they are happy to purchase these and sell them
on, however we will need to put a small amount of percentage on to
cover our costs. My intention here is not to make money but I have to
ensure this doesn't cost my company money either.
The proposal is we purchase 50 MAX-6Q's (same pitch as a NEO-6Q but
smaller) and sell as follows :
Cost £12.76 ( with the delivery) sell @ £14.67 (15%) + VAT = £17.60
each (Saving £5.36 without the postage). Delivery depending on how
many you order, generally recorded delivery or we'll use UPS for
larger orders (again I'll do this at cost).
I intend to produce some breakout boards as well to go with these
which will probably a few pounds each.
I'd just like to gauge the interest. I'm not expecting to clear all
these at once and as you're purchasing from a company you can use
Paypal, credit cards etc .
Let me know if this is of interest and how many you think you'll require.
Cheers,
Anthony / 2E0UPU
I'm currently looking at these at the moment, and although will probably
order one before you go ahead with this (I'm eager to get playing!), think
this is a good idea if it saves a few quid. The delivery cost of £12 for a
single module means that it's actually costing over £30.
I would be happy to purchase some more once you're setup. My only concern
would be how long you ended up with these, but I'm sure you've thought that
through.
Thumbs up from me!
Hi all,
Cheers,
