Hi everyone,

I've just upgraded from a Nokia 7600 (I've owned 4 of these) to an HTC
Hero and I'm missing the function of Nokia Pc Suite (I never thought I'd
say that about that steaming puddle of unstable piss)...

Is there any software out there that will let me use my PC to send SMS
messages through my connected Hero?

Thanks in advance

I don't know about HTC, but I've used several different mobiles
with Outlook and the SMS add-in.

Not strictly Hero SMS software, but this may be of use:

What Outlook add-in is this?

The only add-in I can find for Outlook is one that sends SMS messages
via the internet to a third-party SMS gateway to which you have to
subscribe.

Are you saying there's one which will allow Outlook to send the text
directly via a phone?

Yes, using the phone as a modem.

Many thanks. Looks like that could be useful, although it's a pity
it's only able to send, but not receive.

Jeyo mobile extender. Not sure if it works with Android or not, but
www.jeyo.com will soon tell you. Costs about £10 to buy but well worth
it.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I did see a great HTC Phone Manager
software based on one that was used for Motorola phones. You install on
he handset and connect via a webbrowser using wifi.......

Unfortunately it's not in the market place so I don't trust it! Ahh well :(
