I read about the tariff changes here last month, but haven't had any
correspondence or notification (of any kind) from O. Anyone else in the
same boat? Are O obliged to formally tell me in writing?

Sadly, both my wife and I *have* had notifications.

I imagine that they *are* obliged to tell you - although there is
probably some get-out clause about accidental omission, or something
which says that it's hard luck if they send it but you don't receive it.
Do you normally receive their bills ok?

Neither have i, but i'm going to leave an outgoing voicemail message
on my OVP Virgin directing people to my new phone number
(which will be on PAYG Talk Home mobile) which has free Voicemail

Talk Home Mobile is a virtual on Orange.
So if they can offer free voicemail so can Fecking Orange!

If Hans Snook was dead he'd be turning in his grave ;-p

Same boat here. 5 numbers on OVP-VM and not a single letter.

Perhaps they've changed their mind? Some hopes!

I've only ever seen the words "Hans Snook" in one place, and it's posts from
you. Another fascinating fact, same time tomorrow.

You do know who Hans Snook is?

Didn't Hans Snook say something like 'Mobile phone companies are a rip-
off' and that he intended to do something about it. I think that it was
during his reign that 'Everyday 50' and the 'The Orange Value Promise'
came in where tariffs, like the Virgin one, would be matched by Orange.
Those were the days when Orange was seen as a good company - now they are
becoming - perhaps have already become, the new Vodafone, where (IMHO)
they will try and fleece you, unexpectedly & sneekily, by every twist
and turn.
My T-Mobile SIM-only tariff went up by 25% and my diversion, to
alternative voicemail service Hullu , so as not to pay their voicemail
fee, was redirected back to T-Mobile voicemail. It is likely that I will
get out of the France Telecom kitchen when my renewal comes due.

One OVP-VM here, still not heard a peep from them. I even turned it on
the other day, on the off-chance they'd sent me a text about it.

Not a peep.

They were good. But I'm still waiting for a revival of the one by O2 or its predecessor with £5 off your call charge bill. The discount applied even if calls were landline, mobile, international, non-geographic.

Simples...
