Can someone tell me if the Nokia 6610 has the same bottom as the 6310.
I've got a carphone kit that takes the 6310 and want to know if the 6610 has
the same bottom.
I can't find the phone in the shops!

Thanks.

I've answered this question in detail in the past.

Short answer - no.

You need a new car kit; all that's recyclable from the current
installation is the microphone and speaker. 6610 is from a different
generation of phones to 6310 - the car kit you had initially launched
for the 51xx and 61xx series. It also covered the 62xx and 63xx. 6310i
is the last of that generation of phones.

David

(happy with his 6310i, which he bought after the 7210 and 6610 were
launched - simply because it has Bluetooth and 7210/6610/anything
similar Nokia have announced don't).

jammer opened his or her mouth, and muttered...

Most if not all of the new generation of Nokia phones will use the POP-port
connector, ie totally incompatible with all of their existing accessories!

Well it looks like Nokia are willing to piss off some big corporate
customers who have big investments in CARK-91 car kits that are compatible
with 51**, 6210 and 6310. Next time I change my car a Bluetooth kit will go
in, end of problem.

That generation had to end sometimes - and it ended with 6310i. That car
kit has covered phones for several years.

Nokia have gone for a new base connector to be common across their
ranges. I would hope this one stays current for a long time; upgrading
from one Pop-Port phone to another means that you change your phone
holder and keep the rest of the car kit intact.

They're not perfect - no phone holder, no charger, and no external
antenna.
