mobiles. Plenty about mobile Internet but nothing about phones.
Calling 150 just gives you the regular land line 150.
I want to find out my free minutes left on the monthly account.

They became O2
Not quite true. BT's mobile service was Cellnet which DID become O2. A few
years later they dabbled in this again, called BT Mobile, which piggy backed
on T-Mobile and then Vodafone's network. I believe they didn't stay in it
very long though and hence the lack of up to date info the OP is

got any clues as to the actual make and model? If so someone might
remember using a similar one and have some idea how to navigate the 'menu'
system.

This phone is on a contract started in Oct 09. There is a monthly bill
from BT.
It is part of a Oneplan contract on a land-line.
It was a special deal to get a sizeable discount, there had to be some
additional contract item. As Internet was already catered for, the
mobile phone was chosen. The saving was more than the cost of £25/month
for the phone contract.
I see from the first bill:

Is there a "One contact number for all One Plan service, billing, and
fault enquiries" on the bill? That is one of the benefits of the scheme

Presumably MVNO stands for 'mobile virtual network operator' (ie BT use
someone else to provide the actual network - O2 perhaps?). Fusion was a
service that allowed a mobile phone to make VoIP calls when within range
of the router (using either Bluetooth or WiFi to connect, I think). There
doesn't seem to be much about it on BT's web site now, apart from
<http://www2.bt.com/static/i/microsite/help_and_tips/billing/faq/fusion_account.html>
and Wikipedia seems to think the service was withdrawn in April 2009

A more recent bill would be a better source of current information about
the account.

That particular model isn't listed in

Eventually I called BT Business Sales (most likely to get a quick route
to a UK human)
It turns out that there is no way to find out at the moment what the
available minutes are other than calling the One Plan CS number 0800 917
0224 who then transfer you to an other department who then tells you an
out of date balance.
Looks like BT only has "Business Mobile" but it seems to operate below
the radar.
