BT ACR charge lawful?

I'm not convinced, having glanced at the EU directive, that the *amount* of
money BT is charging for ACR is lawful.

The initial aim and direction was for the service to be free. This was
modified to reasonable cost presumably following representations by
telephone companies about the initial cost of implementation.

BT charges more for ACR than any other subscription service and excludes ACR
from value/feature packs.

Has this been picked up before in terms of a formal complaint to Ofcom?

I presume that all they do is bring up the customer's record on a
computer screen and tick a box for ACR. I can't imagine there being a
black box marked "ACR" at the exchange, will surely all be done in the
software.

Also Alternative Carrier Routing, so its as bad as "DRM" as having

There's an awful lot of 24p's in that table (8p/month).

Is it one of the �1.50 per quarter (50p/month) ones?

Good point, I also neglected to notice they were quarterly charges. I'll
try and find out but I suspect it's one of the more expensive given how
much we charge for it compared to our other calling features ...

They're all the current prices (check the dates)

No, it's in a different table. Still 24p per quarter. All the £1.50
ones are old prices...check the dates.
