When you say it failed what exactly do you mean? I note none of my direct
debits due to be taken since 24th December have not been with two different
bank accounts.. I suspect that the BACS system has taken a whole week off
for Christmas.

Just an e-mail from Be today, due day, saying collection failed and they
will try again.
On the previous problems I mentioned the bank will not tell you much as to
why they thought it was not a correct payment.
I'm just wanting to know if others had same problem with today's DDs
Regards
David
You should make it very clear to your bank that they must explain exactly
why the request was refused. I just phoned one of my banks, First Direct,
who told me there was no general delawith DDs but there were three due to be
actioned on Monday.

Well got a reply from the bank who say the DD failed due to not having my
name/address on, and thier security rejected it.
Be say it was no different to all the previous DD requests which were paid,
Be think it was because it was bank holiday Monday.
Be presented the DD again today and were paid.
Guess I will never know the truth.

David
Direct debits can go wrong, as there are three parties involved, you,
your bank and your ISP.
I had a similar problem with Plusnet when setting up my village hall's
internet service. After many weeks of failed transfers and cheques being
sent in lieu, it was finally sorted. I suspect the bank but you never
get the whole truth in these matters.
