Hi All,

Apologies if this is the wrong newsgroup, if it is then any tips on more
appropiate newsgroups / web sites would be appreciated.

Basically I am interested in having a camera for viewing the front of my
house (but may want to upgrade to the back inside etc as time goes on). I
would like to be able to receive this using a pc remotely (i.e. anyway else
in the world - you may have guessed that is what I meant by remotely :)). I
was thinking of having it viewed on a PC using a TV in card or using a
decent webcam then remotely logging into the PC via WinXP Pro remote
connection or a 3rd party option like PC Anywhere. The latter is a preferred
method as this would allow the option of the local and remote viewing at the
same time. Would this work? I would like it to be instant, not still pics
being emailed and the such like. Any ideas appreciated.

Best Regards.
Mikedmc.

"Mikedmc" <miked...@yahoo.com> strung together this:

I would look at the Axis IP cameras at www.axis.com, or any other IP
cameras for that matter, I just picked Axis because I've used them and
had no problems with them. You can view them through any local or
remote machine via a web browser and because they have their own
server built in you don't need a PC running to be able view them
remotely.
