tomorrow Wednesday we see the return of the greatest ! Frankel ! he goes over
1m 2f, for the first time,can`t see that as a problem and he will win as usual :-)
1-7 is a big price methinks,now where did i put that £70,000 in used oncers !!! LOL

Has something changed here?
Newmarket was always RUK (which I don't receive on my VirginMedia
package, but do get ATR).
Anyway, ATR are showing Newmarket today ???
Actually, as I like jumps mostly, ATR serves most of my needs, but
miss the big ones, eg Cheltenham, Aintree, Newbury.
ATR seems mostly the low $ tracks - but with exceptions, eg Ascot,
Doncaster.
What is the background behind which network they go with?

disappointed to see that BBC2 isn't showing the Arc this year, as it has

I think it's actually more complicated than that.
The racecourses are mostly owned by a small number of companies (Arena
Leisure, Mecca Leisure, etc.) and these often have shareholdings in the
various broadcasters (C4, BSkyB). The ones that have an equity
position in C4 generally tie their racecourses to RUK, while the ones
in bed with BSkyB tie theirs to ATR.
The latter group includes Arena Leisure, the company that owns
Wolverhampton, Southwell, etc., which is why ATR ends up showing so
many "dogmeat derbies" during the week.

It seems that racing is in a state of transition as far as terrestrial
broadcasting goes. The BBC has lost interest, but C4 is not yet in a
position to pick up the contractual rights for all the race meetings
the BBC has traditionally covered.

Arena Leisure was taken over by Northern Racing this year.
Unfortunate fo me as I had shares in Arena Leisure that gave me a perk
of twenty vouchers that gave half prce admission at their courses. As a
Senior Citizen it was a double bonus as I aleady had a reduction.
