The bloke on Surrey cricket is awful. Johnny Someoneorother. Also the bloke
who does their twitter feed of score updates refers to himself in the third
person all the time. Nothing worse.

Johnny Baran? He's usually the second commentator, and I don't mind him.
The main commentator is Mark Church. I wouldn't describe him as awful.
He describes what is going on fairly well, but his voice is a bit
monotonous.

I don't use twitter. When online I generally get the scores from the BBC
website.

Gurney opened because Notts had one over to see out on the previous
evening, which he successfully negotiated. It's unusual to open with a
nightwatchman, but Notts chose to do so. I don't know anything about
Edwards, but IIRC he top-scored, so his opening seemed to be justified.
