After a crap year for them, they've managed to stay up. Many thanks to the north-west Londoners for helping the cause by beating Lancs !

Echoed on all counts. One area in which Middlesex are superior to Surrey
is in the quality of their Radio London / Internet commentators, as I
think that David Townsend is highly entertaining. It's a pity that he's
never been given a go on TMS.

Dagnell and O'Brien (a Kiwi O'Keefe) are the real disasters. Steve
Snell I like. RH

The bloke on Surrey cricket is awful. Johnny Someoneorother. Also the bloke
who does their twitter feed of score updates refers to himself in the third
person all the time. Nothing worse.

with captain batty leading by example. but what
was going on in Notts 2nd innings? they opened
not with Hales and weesel, but with
Gurney, who usually bats last and was out
in the first over, and Edwards: where did
he come from? Or is it just a BBC typo
for Hales?

Johnny Baran? He's usually the second commentator, and I don't mind him.
The main commentator is Mark Church. I wouldn't describe him as awful.
He describes what is going on fairly well, but his voice is a bit
monotonous.

I don't use twitter. When online I generally get the scores from the BBC
website.

Gurney opened because Notts had one over to see out on the previous
evening, which he successfully negotiated. It's unusual to open with a
nightwatchman, but Notts chose to do so. I don't know anything about
Edwards, but IIRC he top-scored, so his opening seemed to be justified.
