A real winter you have there in Norge, here in Reykjavik it has been
snowless
for weeks and 22 days in a row without any frost in january.
That hasn´t happend since record began.
Europe has been freezing, awhile Iceland has had some nice warmth.
But winter will come eventually in the end, that is certain.

Very interesting to hear that, Thor.
A different circulation pattern this year it seems.
In the Oslofjord area they are now for the first time since sometimes in the
80s using icebreakers to hold the ship lanes open for sea traffic.
So very unusually cold.

When I was in Ottawa they used to dump the piles of snow on the frozen
Ottawa River, to save them from cluttering up car parks. I also
remember piles of snow in the parking lots remaining until the
beginning of June.

Actually, nowadays, dumping snow in the water is illegal in Norway,
as far as I know.
This because snow from roads contains toxic wastes that would acculate
more than normal in the water.
In the first snowfalls in January I saw in a newspaper that it was ok to
dump it in the sea only if it was not from roads. A slight lifting of the
ban because of the difficult snow conditions then.

Amazing pics Bjorn!
Blimey I don't know what sort of snow warning would be issued by our met
office if that lot was on the way here!!!
It's a severe snow warning in the UK if there is as much as an inch on the
way:)

He he we will know in a couple of weeks LOL :-)

The met office would have a serious panic attack if anything like that was
even getting close to us:):)
