You're right, it has, and we all should.
Don't s'pose there's any hope of a bunch of pagany type peeps coming
to a agreement on when and where to suit all, is there? <wry g>

Bwahaha. Midsummer is already booked for me.

I'd volunteer location, but it's - well, cramped :( But *perks* if people
wanna put up with the squishing, that'd be an inspiration to finish the
spring-cleaning for once ... and I can do whatever date suits everyone ..

Where's 'up here'?

Not sure where Troon is, but me and the family will be having a holiday
somewhere around the w coast in August.
At this moment I can make no guarantee but the idea appeals and I'm
willing to pencil it in as soon as you offer a date.

If past experience is anything to go by, we are unlikely to find a date
which suits everyone so may I suggest, Halla, you as the host offer us a
date which suits you. What did you have in mind when you first posted
your invitation?

Troon. That brings back memories of the summer of '47 - just before I
was called up for military service. Lovely scenery (Troon, that is, not
the military!)

Would love to see you folks. It's strange being close electronically
with so little face-to-face contact.
I have a non-pagan friend visiting until the end of August, which might
make things difficult. And the weekends just before and after solstice
are booked for me.
Anyone going to the Beltane bash next weekend? I probably won't, as my
friend will just have arrived.

Isn't it just. And I doubt many of us even bother to do the old 'phone
cally stuff, or even email each other all that often. <sigh> I reckon
we need to do a massive snail mail addy update (off the internet, of
course) just so's we all know where each other is if we suddenly find
ourselves in a major political blow-out situation. Or something. Heck,
I don't think I even know everyone's email addy these days (since
Ggroups is a bit unhepful 'cause it obscurifates(sp?) everyone's but
mine).

Don't s'pose those with sprogs are gonna get matching half term weeks
early Oct are they? Just thinking that takes the pressure off for the
summer cram - not that I'd mind going somewhere - ANYWHERE - in the
summer. Heck, I just wanna get away for a bit (and Daughter's nagging
too "are we having a meet this year" "is anyone having a meet this
year" "why can't we go to a meet this year" <sigh>).

I won't as we don't get to go anywhere 'cause we've still got this
bloody decorating to do. Whinge whinge whinge whinge. ;)

Not settled yet.
Probably a mix of B&B and camping.
We originally wanted to get over to the W Isles but the ferry would cost
us an extra £200.
I'll be there on Monday.

Well it's not like we've never squished in at yours before, or have
you moved since I last attended one of your squish-ins? <g>

Oh good. So glad it's not just me then. ;)

I've pondered setting u pone of them private email list thingies for
just such things... ies, but I don't have much in the way of Geekdom,
and so have no idea how to go about such things that's make it easy
for everyone we wanna be involved, but keep those we don't wanna be
involved with out of (IYSWIM). Closest I've got to it atm is to do a
friends' locked post on LJ with the details in, but - of course - that
limuits the knowledge to just those with an LJ account in the first
place (well, or those with an OpedID account, but I haven't friended
anyone with one of them yet).

*nods* Like I say, it's the setting up of that I think poses the
biggest problem, once they're set up, I'd imagine it's pretty much
plain sailing from there.

You can do a reply to, but I haven't noticed a full addy that you can
actually get at anywhere, not even in looking at a message through
"view original" with all the headers or anything. Not that that /
actually/ means you can't, you understand, simply that I haven't seen
it yet.

And ummm, now I've asked, I have to admit that I don't know yet
anyway. I've just checked the school website, but they've only got to
the end of Summer term listed. I've emailed them about it anyway, but
Nick reckons we don't ned to get away this year (since I was trying to
convince him this morning that we really really DO ;)).

Hehe, and ta. :) As mentioned, I've been trying to convince Himself we
_need_ to "get away" this year, but I'm not having much luck atm,
possibly especially since I was the one last year saying "well if we
want to go anywhere, we can't put the dogs in kennels 'cause it's just
not nice," and now being the one saying "we could with looking into
seeing how much putting the dogs in kennels'd be, since we could do
with getting away for a bit." Also like he points out, we do have a
fair whack to do around the house atm. <sigh>

Ooooh, so tempting, so tempting... but it doesn't really work all that
well when you're tiling and plastering. <g>

Just had an email back from the school; 27th - 31st here, which on the
plus side, at least means we get Halloween off. Of course, all that's
assuming they actually let her go back next year, and don't decide to
kick her out for being such a lazy arse. :/

How does the song go?
Speed, bonny car, like a bird on the wing,
Over the bridge to Skye.
Wherever I am, there be squishing :)

please :)

I'm getting like that now. *looks ruefully at podgy gut*
;)
So you still where you was? 'S just that I'm thinking that for the
Northern bunch, your place might be easiest for all. Of course, that
leaves the Southern bunch either travelling too far, or having to
organise a different meet.

Oh dear. If the braincell sharing has passed on to the kids too, we
know we're in trouble. ;)

Which is a bit silly, since we're after *a* meet, not regional devolution

It was the "can we have a meet, can we go to a meet, why is no-one having a
meet" which sounded so very familiar :)
