Remember that BBC TV show from the 70's Living In The Past? Where they
packed off a lot of middle class wannabe hippies to live as if they were in
the iron age for a year? Great viewing. They are shoing a follow up docu
on BBC4 this tuesday catching up with some of the participants and how it
affected their lives. May be of interest to some members of this group.

The Duckbilled Platypus, our one shared reality is only because no single
person could imagine it on their own.

Thank you for the reminder. I was in a far distant land when the
original was broadcast.

There was a series on kids tv recently. I forget what it was called but a
bunch of kids were sent to live with families for a few weeks in the age of
world war two. They all reaalized what we take for granted.

OTOH sending them to live as a Roman patrician might not have been too
disagreeable.

"As a", or "with a"?

Currently reading Jingo, and so wondering just how 'interesting'
living with Pterry's Patrician'd be.
