I've been watching carefully this year for the hawthorn to flower. Had a false alarm a couple of weeks ago as one unusually exuberant tree burst into bloom. It wasn't until last week that the whole hedgerow on the road between here and there went 'paff!' and popped into flower. ...So. Remember that BBC TV show from the 70's Living In The Past? Where they packed off a lot of middle class wannabe hippies to live as if they were in the iron age for a year? Great viewing. They are shoing a follow up docu on BBC4 this tuesday catching up with some of the participants and how it affected their lives. May be of interest to some members of this group.... more »

That's all, really. Been too long since I saw you all, and I'm too poor (time and money) to visit you all individually. What say you? I'd love to have folks up here for midsummer and the near neverending light (and the SEA!), but I appreciate that's not too far in the future now.

So, what does 'home' mean to you lot? I've been pondering on it lately. Place of birth? Area you grew up? The physical house you make? Is it always a solid thing that you can point at or a feeling? Is it defined by your religion or spritiuality? Is it a spiritual place?
