Is there any advantage to using a thick monograde oil if one does
not intend to travel far or often? I know the classic motorcycle boys
swear by SAE30 (Silkolene and the like), or even good old castor oil (for
the luvverly vintage pong) but that's also in conjunction with regular
oil changes and... errr... regular attention to the oil filter...

Given that Silkolene has to be got by mail order, what 20-weight
brand do you recommend, Bruce?
