We are in the market for a Butty, preferably full length, age no matter as
long as the hull is sound. Missed one at WFB by a matter of a few hours (!).
Anyone know of anything?

I had my finger poised to suggest the one at WFB until I got to the end of
the message. Shame. Never mind goog luck with the search.

Arcturus and Sirius are for sale and I would imagine the owner would
split them if need be. He would certainly find the sale of a single
motor easier than a pair.

I will e mail him and he may either come on the group or contact you

Thanks Guy, if it hadn't been such a miserable day and that we were not in a
bit of a rush, would have knocked on your door Saturday.

BTW, also looked at the Ian, but we really don't want another full-length
motor. If we were to get another motor it would by similar in size to yours
to open up the rest of the system to us. It turns out that it is an old
friend of ours who has bought Argo, he is currently on his way to collect,
should be at WFB tomorrow or so.

I'd have been apologising now if you had, as I was down here in Sussex by
then. Don't be deceived by the Discovery being there, it usually is; I
drove the Freelander to Sussex.

I'm sorry you didn't get there in time but glad she'ds been sold. I did
wonder how easy she'd be to sell once Bristol had gone.

I do not know if he intends contacting you direct but the owner has e
mailed me saying he is unwilling to split the pair given their
historical significance.

The boats in question are wooden, not a thing to own unless you are a keen
enthusiaste or very wealthy. I know this from being involved with a
Mersey/Weaver butty in the late 50's. And working Saturn in the early 60's.

Thanks both, have looked at both of these before, you're correct about the
price Robin and in reality we want an unpowered one.
