It is hoped that funding can be found to open 4 tunnels on the monsal trail that have been closed ever since beechings axe fell on the line in the 60's There is one view which will particularily be opened as currently only 300 people a year enjoy on a very over subscribed guided tour. Just visited: [link] and I have to say it's a crap website! I sat watching it take over 30 seconds to load ....checking browser.....loading...loading. .... Yeah, I give up. Then curiousity got the better of me to see how it works with other browsers. Opera (my default browser): long time to load and small framed.... more »
