Has anyone heard of these? My physiotherapist has said that I
should investigate them.

Try Googling Stiebler Rucksacs and you'll get quite a fiew sites but in

I did. They're not relevant - my German may not be good, but it's
good enough to tell that.

Actually, I think that it merely shows what your search settings
are, or perhaps what Google thinks that your main interests are!

I get a completely miscellaneous collection of images (none of
knickers or rucksacs) for "Stiebler rucksacs" and a collection
of pictures of people apparently called Stiebler for "Stiebler".

Yes I always find it interesting when somebody assumes that Google
offers the same results to everyone who enters the same research terms.
The output results can vary markedly depending upon your location, the
particular computer you are using, your previous search history if
logged in to Google+ or with cookies turned on, or just the previous
search history from that IP address.

Indeed. But I was pulling Nick's leg.
There is probably a record now, somewhere, of his image search for
"Stiebler knickers", which will provide some future PhD sociology
student with enough material to write a book (-:

Nice try, but no banana. The search engine I was used was the
Mark I eyeball, which is not fitted with either automatic recording
or direct Internet access. My Google search was as I said: "Stiebler
rucksacs" and "Stiebler". Sorry not to be more fun.

I really, really HATE fashion, trends and marketdroids :-(

Two years ago, pretty well all of the larger rucksacs rested on
the rear of the pelvis. Today, that seems to have been fixed,
but they all seem to be designed for climbers. People haven't
changed, and I don't believe that the majority of people really
do climb up cliffs carrying 25 Kg.

Modifying a rucksac by (say) sewing on side pockets might be
feasible, but I can't even find one suitable as a basis for that.
And it's not as if my requirements are completely weird - it's
just that I am reaching my limit of adaptation to ill-fitting
rucksacs, due to old age and degeneration :-(

Stiebler looks interesting, but is precisely not what I want.
All I want is a large capacity walking rucksac, with reasonable
closable side pockets, and a decent hip strap that puts the
weight on my hips (not the rear of my pelvis). Sigh.
