Can any one tell me where I can buy a pair of silicon boot dryers. Our
old ones are now lost and the local out door shops have never stocked
them for years. If the sillicon dryers are not available does any one
know of the modern eqquivelent.

I don't know if it's a modern equivalent but I get my boot dryers from the
local newsagent!

General component catalogues, like RS, often have bags of silica gel in
various sizes which do the job okay.
Once the boots are done, bake the gel bags lightly to drive off the
water they've absorbed.
