I've been something of a custodian of Milnathort since reopening it 5
years ago.
I was a key-holder for the locking bar that was fitted to replace the
original padlocks, but it's state over the past year has deteriorated
internally as the original flooding still remains and if anything has
got worse (The pump is seized, despite repeated attempts to get it
working).
There also seems to have been some vandalism of the internal fittings
by various visitors (The locking bar was forced off last year), as the
battery box has now been thrown into the centre of the room.

Recently the airfield has reopened, but part of the runway is now
owned by Grampian Chicken who run a battery farm on the original
runway. Grampian Chicken are only willing to sell as a going concern
making it financially impossible to purchase the bottom of the runway
so the runway has to be extended backwards directly over the R.O..C
post. For this reason the post is scheduled for demolition within the
next year.

I'd advise anyone seeking a look before it goes, to contact the
landowner at http://balado.co.uk/

regards,

Stuart
