My sister and her family have been threatened due to not dropping charges in
an up and coming court case.

The Police cannot do anything until 'something' happens.

Firstly, is it legal for my sister and her children to carry and use a stun
gun? Her children are 18 and 14 respectively.

Secondly, where can I buy stun guns from?

I live in the Birmingham area (UK)

Many Thanks

Bob

I'm sorry to hear it.

No, nor any other kind of offensive weapon.

It seems unfair I know.

No it isn't. Electrical stun guns are 'prohibited weapons' under
Section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968. That places them in the same
category as machine guns etc. Besides, to use a stun gun effectively
you've got to be up close and personal. That places you in danger.

A washing up bottle filled with a liquid that contains ammonia or
something equally nasty, however, is not a prohibited weapon. Nor is an
aerosol of hair spray. Nor is a kettle of boiling water. And a great
many other things.

With the caveat that carrying them in public would class them as
offensive weapons if they were "designed or adapted to cause injury or
carried with the intent to do so".
Perfectly legal at home though.

I cannot believe this was posted here. This newsgroup is for the target
shooting not illegal self defence. Bog off to some other newsgroup full of
people who like carrying weapons around with them with the intention of
using them on another human.
