Anybody got any good recommendations for books related to diving or marine
salvage?
I have recently read "The Man Who Bought a Navy" about the salvage of the
Scapa Wrecks and "Goldfinder" by Keith Jessop about the salvage of gold from
the HMS Edinburgh.
Both were brilliant, so I wondered if anybody knew of any other good read's
in the same vein.

Cheers
Doug.

I found some good books about scuba at Amazon.com - you don't have to buy,
but you can get lots of info by doing a search on eg. diving, salvage,
wreck - etc.

Have fun!

The diving related books from Amazon, and more, are already selected and
categorized. Here is one of the categories you're probably interested in,

http://www.diverecord.com/BookStore.asp?f=Sc:::Adventure

but it might be worthwhile to check some of the others, too.

Try "Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea" by Gary Kinder. The title may
sound a bit corny but the writing and subject matter are good.

It's about a deep water salvage in USA waters using ROV technology.

"Jutland to Junkyard" is also about the raising of the German High Seas
fleet. It gives more detail about the mechanics of the salvage operation
than "The Man Who Bought A Navy" and has more photographs and drawings, but
is not as engagingly written.

The Other Titanic by somebody Martin ( brother of Colin Martin , famous
marine archeologist ( is that spelt right ?) available from your library .
True story about 2 blokes in the 1970's salvaging a White Star Liner
Oceanic I think ) off Foula in Scotland. It was as luxurious as but smaller
and earlier than Titanic Very good read
