Dear Group,

Take a few moments to read the following:

BT British Nautical Awards accepts nominations.
United Kingdom

Southampton — The new BT British Nautical Awards will
present the Yachtsman of the Year Award, the Young Sailor of
the Year Award and eight other category awards at the 2000
London International Boat Show.

The new awards organization, an amalgamation of the
previously separate Royal Yachting Association (RYA),
British Marine Industries Federation (BMIF) and the Yachting
Journalists’ Association (YJA) Awards, was created to
enhance the prestige of the awards and strengthen
sponsorship opportunities.

Nominations for the awards are now welcomed from the general
public or from members of any of the participating
organizations. A panel of judges, headed by Peter Nicholson,
will select six nominees in each category. Products may also
be nominated for certain awards. RYA and YJA members will be
voting by mail for the prestigious Yachtsman of the Year
award.

Presentations will be made at the Millennium Boat Show Ball
on 7 January, to coincide with the opening of the London
show. There will also be a public presentation ceremony on
the main stage at the boat show.
-------------------------

Please take a few moments to nominate me, Capt. Neal, for
the Yachtsman of the Year award!

Thank you.

A list of your achievements in sailing competition, seamanship or in
sports development would be necessary
before a nomination could be made . Do you have any?

Dear Mr. Sykes,

For that type of information you need only visit my Web
Home.

Be sure to visit the Novice Lesson link at the bottom so you
can see how my efforts to educate an entire generation of
novice sailors are reaching hundreds and perhaps even
thousands of future sailors. Note that this is all done
gratis! Such dedication should not go unrewarded.

Respectfully,
Capt. Neal

Seamanship - Hurricane Floyd realised that it could never match him,
for being a blowhard, and went somewhere else in disgust.

Sailing Competition - He overtook a J24 once.

Sports Development - He's converted a lot of would be sailors to
tiddleywinks.

Regards

Roger
