They were English. So it was a celebration of a successful harvest by
English people and some of the local native Americans (as we would now
describe them).

The King at that time was James the First of England and Sixth of
Scotland.

Southampton and had Spencer Tracy and Van Johnson on board and they

I'm certainly not suggesting that that is the source - poverty, terror
and torture have existed for centuries. I said 'keeping'. The obscene
expenditure on weapons displays, of course, massive fear and
cowardice, but, perhaps even more importantly, it displays contempt
for the poor and for human suffering. The amount spent, almost 5% of
GDP, is more than even the most craven cowards would require -
spending a fraction of it on humanity, instead of death, would be
quite enough to solve world poverty.
