OT - DHL rant
Anonymouslemming
from intobikes.co.uk. They shipped the bits on Thursday last week via
DHL 48 delivery.
When the goods still hadn't arrived yesterday, I contacted intobikes
and they told me to call DHL. I just did and I'm now wondering how
they stay in business.
Apparently the parcel is sitting in Vauxhall awaiting further
instructions. It turns out that DHL do not deliver to E16 1* or E16
3*. And to make things more fun, they do not notify the sender of this
at the time that they accept the package, and they take full payment
for the delivery.
They also do not notify the sender or the recipient, which is why I
had to call them - according to the drone I spoke to, it's up to the
sender to ensure that the parcel is received by me, and they should be
following it up and advising of any issues.
This smells like borderline fraudulent business to me - they'll take
your money when they have absolutely no intention of completing the
work they are charging for. Neat.
Back to Google to find a new supplier for the bits... Anyone recommend
an online store with good sales and service that don't ship with DHL ?

Err, your problem isn't with DHL, although I admit they're being
cuntish.
It's the problem of you supplier to get the goods to you. I'd have
words with the supplier, threatening to claim your money back.

Every other courier I know of does ship to my home. Parcelfarce, UPS,
FedEx, the lot. Last week we had one parcelforce and one FedEx
delivery and I know we've had loads of UPS in the past.
DHL just suck, and I'm sure this is fraudulent business practice.

The supplier didn't want to know - they wanted me to resolve it with
DHL, so I just got a refund issued.
I'm just a little surprised that it's legal to accept business / enter
into a contract to perform work with no intention of completing that
work.
I've just tried ordering with Bikebitz so we'll see what happens with
that.

DHL have a policy of not delivering in areas where thier drivers have
been attacked or where the contents of the vans keep getting nicked .
You would think they would have the decency of telling the customers
though

DHL terms and conditions expressly permit them to do this , i know one
of my suppliers has dropped them because of this and switched to UPS
and Omega

I get the impression that ther's probably more than a few bodies in the
area, squashed in cars, buried under car parking etc. Just driving

That's intobike.co.uk added to the "never order from these cunts" list,
then. It's their problem, not yours. You paid them to deliver goods to
you. They failed. It's no concern of yours how they chose to get it to
you, or what their sub-contractors policies are.

Avoiding the obvious 'Move to a less pikey area' i've also been let
down by DHL this week, so I sympathise with you.

Just think what it was like when I were nowt burra lad back in The Good
Old Days before they introduced competition into the industry. A parcel
would go missing and entire armies of overpaid civil servants would work
endlessly to track it down and track it down they would and then have
the fucking cheek to actually deliver it, to any address in the country.
It is old outdated business attitudes like that that we don't have to
bother about these days. Thank the Lord for creeping privatisation and
blessed be his sharp suited apostles.

Also, their next day delivery can be anything up to three days
I have had Saturday deliveries which the customer has paid extra for and
had them turn around and tell me that Sat deliveries (which cost
significantly more) are not guaranteed
They are cunts and shite with it
... but we get a good deal (£8 for up to 31.5kg)
