I tried to post via Google, but it doesn't seem to have been delivered,
so here I go again. Would you be able to run WINE as Mac O/S is BSD
under the skin?

Bootcamp or Parallels - both need a Windows license, though. And
Parallels costs money.

Bootcamp is the option if you use leopard, otherwise parallels is the
best of a bunch. The quick install is great for getting the system up
and running.

Does not wine run on the mac OS? Dual boot the linux distro of your
choice and install wine on that if not - completely free. Minejoo not all
windows apps run on it: what are you trying to run?

For the occasional use of some Windows software I'd still use Parallels
as it'd save you rebooting into Windows.
mixed results under wine:

You'd be better off buying the Mac version of RS in the first place.

Have a look at CrossOver <http://www.codeweavers.com>
See if that will do what you need.

With or without religion,
you would have good people doing good things
and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
Or VirtualBox - the product is free but you still need an XP license.
Or if you are feeling terminally brave try the Mac version of WINE. No
Windows required but since it probably won't cope with whatever you
want to run definately a case of a saving-too-far..
