> Anyone buy the new maps for western europe?
No
> Are they worth fourty quid to update from the last ones?
No, only minor changes you wont even notice, if you use mapshare your get
all the same corrections back again and more.
I use mapshare, as does my son-in-law. We have made a few changes and
none have appeared on our maps.
Just as a general point regarding all makes, new maps will incorporate
new roads and other changes that map sharing systems won't include. From
what I've heard of mapshare, for instance, it lets you change things
like speed limits and directions of one way streets, but there's no way
to add a completely new road, or turn a crossroads into a roundabout.
Within a few miles of where I live, there are a couple of bypasses that
show on the new maps that don't show on the old ones. On average they
save five minutes on journey times in the rush hour. Multiply that by
all the new roads in the area I cover, and it's noticeable, especially
on long journeys.

John.
Does it have the roundabouts on the A1 removed?
And what about the new layout of the A2?
The A1 is about 600 miles long, so I can't answer that, as I've not
driven the entire length lately. I drove along the bit from Newcastle
Upon Tyne to Edinburgh in August, and the 2009 map (Not Tomtom) I was
using was accurate within the limits of the system I was using.
Same for the A2, the last time I was on that was about a year ago, and I
wasn't paying attention to the screen, as I knew where I was going
anyway. The 2007 map was inaccurate near the M25 junction, but they
*were* still building it.
> Does it have the roundabouts on the A1 removed?
Yes, all of them between Blyth and Stamford.
Peter.
I see. The M25 goes round London & Darlington is around 300 miles north in
Co. Durham, so you must have had your eyes closed all the time.
Well, that wasn't worth the money.
It still shows a roundabout at Gonerby Moor on the A1.
The new M25 - A2 interchange is still shown as a roundabout, and not
flyovers - Totaly confusing if you don't know the road.
The N7 bypass in Vidauban on the Var is still shown under construction
- it was opened over a year ago.
That is after just a quick look :-(
