Not to worry Christina, they're allowed! Actually I'm an ex-smoker
myself, having stopped 6 years. I only say stopped, because I've made it
this far (just) before. In fact I think the reason many ex-smokers
become so vehement is that they still desire, and so it's a good
psychological defence. In spite of that I try to stay tolerant and not
be a PITA about it. I still get some pretty strong cravings
occasionally, but the smell of it to me can range from "mmmm" to "ugh."
In this case the apartment next door is being renovated, and I have no
idea whether the nice new young lady is a smoker as her predecessors
were. When they smoked on the balcony, I closed my window. But this is
a coop that has strict rules about smoking in common areas, and the
workers are either doing just that or smoking with the door open. Sadly
the inhabitants chose me (in spite of the fact I'm not here much of the
time) to preside over their building, and stupidly I accepted, so it's on
my plate to see the rules enforced. Not my favourite way of spending
cycles.
But you wont come to grief from me for choosing to smoke where ever it's
allowed, even if that currently makes it difficult for any non-smoker to
sit outside at a Paris cafe. Now my teenage son, that's another
matter...
