I understand Your Horse mag is going to conduct a readers survey.

Should women over a size 14 do the following;

Wear Jods ?
Ride a horse ?

Is this PC in this day and age?

Interesting.... I just got the latest BHS magazine, and there are a load of
letters in there in response to a letter in the previous edition, where a
woman was bemoaning the fact that she is a size 26 and although her Dales
pony carries her happily (or so she said), she can't find riding clothes in
her size.
Most (all but 1) of the respondents said, effectively, that she was too big
and therefore almost certainly too heavy to ride a horse and that most
riding schools would not, from an equine welfare point of view, let her ride
there.
I wonder what she did actually weigh?
Size 14 - my god, most of us would be worried! I thought the 'average'
these days was 16??
Anyway, clothes 'sizes' vary from brand to brand, I've been known to be size
10 and size 14 on the same shopping trip, in different shops!!
As for PC - I think sizeist is about the only one left we CAN do, isn't it?
;-)
Cheers
Alison.

Oh its great here in Canada - we are at least two sizes ( maybe even three)
behind uk so I can go in and try a size 12 on and its hanging off me!

B*llocks to PC - can not be arsed with it.

As a 5ft 6" size 14 on the lower and anything between 16-18 on the top
(nothing to get excited about only a C cup with a huge rib cage/upper torso
from too much swimming as a youngster) I would say I am not a brilliant
shape for riding, as it is better to be wider on the hips and smaller on the
upper body, but I cope, my horses cope and as long as I dont want to wear
certain "labelled" riding tops/shirts I am able to purchase what I need.

Ladies, maybe we should be asking the question - "does size really matter??"
:-D
