Description: Discussion of UK cycling issues

Fancy a bit of bullying?
You need to get over to uk.rec.cycling.moderated. There is someone there posting as "thirty-six"; you can say what you like to him and his posts. If you're a moderator there then you are actually encouraged to take part in the fun. You can tell him that what he says is bullshit - you can accuse him of... more »

Brakes in the rain
Whilst cycling it started chucking it down with rain and I was wet through after 5-10 minutes. I noticed when I braked it didn't seem to have any effect at all, which forced me to get off and push my bike. I was able to have some brake power if I held the brakes down for about 5 seconds which I guessed was getting the water off the brake pads.... more »

Table.
I never did get to find out where I was on the table of rejected posters in another place, but I think I might have noticed an anomaly. I posted an absolutely hilarious quip about MattB when I said "too many words..." It was sidesplittingly funny and worthy of Oscar Wilde at his best, and it was accepted! Showing that the moderators are men ( all... more »

Pedestrian injured
Yet another pedestrian injured by a cyclist. Oh I did not see the warning sign, the cyclist said, I wonder what ther comment would be if a motorist said that? I wasn;t going fast, well if not this just goes to prove that you don't have to be going fast to cause injuries. See [link] WSR... more »

A modern cyclist must have a passion for suffering and sacrifice
"The non Christians have more Jesuses to claim than the Christians" Let's assume the crucifiction really took place (ie. that the fiction is real)... and then a few day later Jesus rose from the dead. What's the big deal about when he didn't commit the "ultimate sacrifice," which is to die and be really dead or perhaps to be crippled for... more »

Wheel sizes
Hi, I need to put my wheel size into a new bicycle computer/odometer. It is asking for a size which I do not know how to work out. Size is between 60 and 300, but my wheel size is 26". Does anyone know what this equates to in the bicycle computer world? Many thanks in advance.
