Also, how do you think urcm's going? Do you see yourself posting there
much in the future? Do you think it's right that MattB's posts are
being routinely delayed and censored simply because he dares to post
facts about anti-motorist measures that the car-haters would rather
pretend weren't true? Doesn't that indicate that those who thought from
the beginning that urcm was about censorship of such viewpoints were
right all along?
Doesn't it also indicate just how aware the car-haters are that the
facts regarding road safety aren't on their side and the only way they
can not be humiliatingly outdebated is by censoring, ignoring and/or
insulting the opposition so that they don't have to address their points
properly? Also, aren't people who knowingly post nonsense about road
safety in order to further a "hidden" agenda of theirs utter scum who
are prepared for road users to DIE just so that they can piss off
motorists? Don't you find that reprehensible? How can you defend such
people while simultaneously lecturing Judith and me and pretending to be
the "voice of reason" who's so much better and wiser than we are? If
you were really so reasonable and really such a great bloke then you
would think that deliberately distorting the road safety effort just to
make things harder for motorists was diabolical behaviour.

Unlike many of the regulars here, I can see that you're a decent person
who's been blinded by anti-motorist rhetoric and dogma, rather than
genuinely evil and dishonest like Chapman and co. There's hope for you

- I don't know, and more importantly don't give a shit whether Chapman
posted as Lou Knee.
- I think URCM's going fine. It's a pity there are a small number of
moaners, and as I've said I can't really see why they are moaning
given they voted against the group in the first place. I do and
will continue to post there if I see fit. I'm perfectly happy to
see Matt's posts scrutinised heavily, he's an inveterate bore with
an agenda and an aversion to listening to others, he can have a taste

How is it "stalking" someone to address a thread to them? You wouldn't
say it was "stalking" if one of your car-hating buddies FAOed another
one through a usenet thread (say because the addressee was too much of a

If I was going round replying to all your posts in every thread then you
might have a point (which I know would be unusual for you).
Unfortunately you're not that special to me Nobby (just highly amusing
in various unintentional ways...you brighten up the dreary URC
experience immeasurably...no-one could possibly accuse you of being one
of the shit-boring robotic clone car-haters. It just shows that there's
an exception to every rule: there really is such a thing as an
interesting and individual car-hater who can think for themselves and is
capable of being honest and sincere, at least sometimes).

You *do* know it was him. That's a LIE. If you really don't give a
shit, why bother lying? If it really "doesn't matter" then why don't he
and/or his sycophants just admit it was him and move on? We're hardly

admits it, are we?
And if you're going to keep taking the moral high ground then being
dishonest isn't very good. I mean, it's not unusual by any means, but

What you mean is that you don't like him posting inconvenient truths
which you don't want to be reminded of. You know you won't be able to
stop him doing it by outdebating him (because you know he's right), so
the only alternative open to you is to try to stop him posting in the
first place by playing dirty.
But what I don't get is: If you know he's right, why do you continue to
hold the opposite point of view (which by definition you must know to be
wrong)? Are you that arrogant that you will never put your hands up and
say "I was wrong" about anything? Thank goodness everyone isn't like
that...if Einstein, Newton, Darwin and co had taken the attitude that
"My first theory about everything is automatically right and so I'm
never going to revise what I think about anything, no matter what
evidence is presented to me", we'd be in an even worse state than we
currently are.
Just admit that speed cameras don't work (and the other sensible things
that MattB says), accept that you were wrong and learn from it. I'm
quite happy to do the same thing when I realise I've been wrong about
something (which of course I am at times). It's for my own good in the
end - and yours. Much better to suffer momentary humiliation (if indeed
you even do) than to refuse to learn from experience and therefore
remain ignorant. You keep banging on about age as if you're always
right because you're old, but if you refuse to learn from life then
you're not benefitting in any way from your advancing years...you've
just got all the downsides of aging while still remaining childish.

Actually, Noreen, I was just goading you for my own amusement. But
sadly you're not biting, probably because you found my points too near
