Subject: DING-DONG Bicycle bell
After a wet and windy - but strangely pedestrian-filled - ride yestderday
morning, I decided I needed a bell and coincidentally walked past Halfords
later in the day. They sell something called the 'Big Bertha Bell' for a
fiver. It's indeed bloody big, but the sound (a genuine "ding-dong" two-tone
affair) is so magnificent it's worth every gramme. I can't wait to get out
and start donging it at people. Spent most of last night ringing it every
time I went past it into the kitchen, until the neighbours started making
banging noises at about ten o'clock...

The Freewheel catalogue that came with the last CTC mag had something
similar for rather more money, so this might be a bit of a bargain.

Ian

the Deeside
cycle track and he seemed similarly affected because he rang it at everyone
and everything
announcing at the same time it would be "xx" o'clock precisely - kept
everybody amused.
