Exporting to US, payment? Thanks

Thanks to all for your advice on getting payment from the US in the
UK.
After a lot of pain, I've finally received my first payment, and
exported my first item!!!

My customer ended up sending the money via wire transfer, which was
costly, but quick. There seemed a total lack of understanding by banks
on both side of the water over this whole issue.
So my advice is to go to largest branch of largest bank you can
find...and take it from there!
