Details: Scenes from the daily and ceremonial life of this
traditional lakeside village with a display of some of
the looms used to weave the costumes. An organisation
specialising in the textiles of the Highland Maya
peoples of Guatemala, The Guatemalan Indian Centre has
a collection of over 6,000 ethnographic textiles and
weaving related materials. They mount free exhibitions
of life and dress and have a superb reference library.
For anyone interested in Latin American costume or
textiles in general it's a great place to know.
