I was given a butterfly that look as if it was painted on a film of some sort.
I've not seen this in the states. Can anyone tell me what this craft might be
called. It has a fine black outline, what material is used for this. thanks for

It sounds like a glass painting film. You can find this on the Rainbow
Glass Web Site http://www.rainbowglasspaints.com
You can find a lot of information on Glass Painting at
http://www.glasspainting.co.uk.
There seems to be a difference between the UK usage of the words glass
painting and the US. In the UK Glass Painting is generaly done with
"air drying" paints"or ones you can dry in a standard oven. In the US
I believe it relates to paints you fire in a kiln.
