British artist?

Hi folks,
I'm not sure if this is quite the right place to ask, but as this is the
"artiest" group I belong to I thought I'd give it a try. Does anyone
know anything about a British artist called Patrick Caulfield? Like
dates and what kind of work he does? He's not in any of my reference
books (I live a long way from a library) and I'm beginning to wonder if
he really exists!
