78 MGb will only run if left on start position

it did this before and changed one on the relays and it started than it did
it again and replaced connector and it started. now replaced other relay but
does same thing

resistor is now open circuit.
You can test this by putting a jumper wire across the resistor terminals
to see if it then runs in the normal position.
Don't use it like that for any length of time though or you will burn
out the coil - my suggestion is for testing purposes only.
If it runs with the jumper wire in position, you need a new ballast
resistor.
