I haven't used one of these pitches before, although I've observed (at
a distance) how one or two others have set themselves up.
Is there an off-the-peg kit available? Alternatively what do I need to
assemble kit-wise to be able to deal with most eventualities when I
come to hook up?
From what I've seen, it seems the norm to use the Aquaroll as a kind
of cistern, so I'll need an unknown length of hose, tap connector(s)
and something like a Torbeck valve adapted to fit the Aquaroll cap.
Typical drainage arrangements seem to use ordinary domestic waste
pipe, with nothing unusual involved.
Is it that simple, or are there any 'gotchas' I need to look out for?
Comments/advice welcomed and appreciated. :-)
You have to decide if this is a one off or something you will be doing
regularly. For a one off use the pitch exactly as you would use a
pitch without services, if you are doing it a lot then you need some
kit. You need a kit to sit in the aquaroll have a look here
http://www.aquaroll.com/english/accessory.html
Ordinary domestic waste pipe will do the rest. You will find that the
30mm pipe fits neatly inside the 40mm pipe to allow you to regulate
the length of pipe you need .

Thanks Bill - it's one of those situations where I'm inclined to make
this the opportunity to upgrade the kit so that we can exploit it in
future.

Didn't Harry (BYT) from Leeds do a "HOW TO" on the cheep about a kit for the Aqua
roll a year or two back
Perhaps Harry might chime in here

As it happens, yes the pitch does have TV connection..

Wi-Fi?

David
Not sure off-hand, but I can always fall back on the Kindle 3G
connection if it becomes necessary.

Caravanning as changed since I first started with all these features now
being required externally and of course we had nothing much inside, no
shower just a good wash in a bowl and an Elsan bucket as a toilet.
I can see soon there will be a caravan on these pitches waiting so no need
to tow one from home.
Wonder if all the fun is going?
Regards
David

Already have that (and have installed a connector so that the cable
connects adjacent to the mains power, and therefore doesn't have to
pass through an open window), but thanks for thinking of it.

Ha! Well, that's a whole different thing, isn't it? The advantage of a
trailer caravan is that you can organise it, both aesthetically and
functionally, to suit your own preferences.
You also benefit from trivial, but important, stuff like decent
cutlery, cooking equipment, & so on.
At my age, if the experience is little different from being under
canvas, I think I would probably not bother. :-)

What a cracking suggestion, thank you! I already had enough spare
waste pipe & fittings in the garage to implement this. Sleeving one
inside the other wouldn't have occurred to me, but it works extremely
well.
I got the idea from a Cl in Cheddar where he has very latge bore pipes
that he extends out to the caravan to take the waste water from the
caravan to his hedge.

Having returned from our trip, I can now report that this worked like
a dream.
To support the waste pipe I used second-hand fishing bank sticks (a
suggestion I read about elsewhere) arranged in pairs forming an 'X',
which allowed me to get a decent straight fall to the drain with no
droops.
