Many of you who know Ann Barker will be distressed to hear that Ann is going into hospital this Wednesday for what will be a fairly serious operation, followed by some protracted courses of further therapy. I am sure that her many friends in this newsgrups will want to join me in wishing her all the best and look forward to her speedy return to full birding fitness.

Your comments are seconded from us at Westhill. Perhaps we will be able to see Ann chasing after this White Phase Gyr Falcon beside Lochnagar (Ca carn beag) in the near future.
Heartfelt thanks to all of you. You won't have long without me; I'll be back before you know it. Someone's got to provide a leftpond angle on British birds! ;-)

Thank you, Mark, for that. Jenny & I are praying for her speedy recovery.
It is most certainly not "OT" - Ann has been an important feature of UK birding for some years now. :-)
