Suggestions please for not-too-expensive binoculars for viewing birds in the
garden. We have just moved to Dorset and our feeder is visited regularly by
nuthatches - brilliant birds

Thanks

Gordon

Gordon, welcome to Dorset! We have resided in W. Dorset for 8 or so
years. It's a super county in which to live.

I recommend you do two things.

1. If not already done, join the Dorset Wildlife Trust. Membership
confers certain benefits including reductions at certain shops. Link is:
http://www.dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk

2. Try visiting NR Green, 247, Ashley Rd, Parkstone, Poole
Tel: 01202 914071. My wife and I - in exactly the same position as you
find yourself - did this and got a 15% discount. In fact we ended up
buying two pairs of second hand but originally very expensive bins at
under half price. In any case we found the people helpful and friendly
and very good with advice. We have been back there for several other
items.

I know this sounds like a commercial and if anyone takes umbrage -
tough!! :-)) It's simply speak as you find and I have found these folks
excellent. But joining the DWT is a serious recommendation - it's a very
active organisation based just north of Dorchester.

I hope you're very happy in Dorset ..... and I suspect you will be.
If you wish to e-mail me remove the "invalid" from the address line on
this message.

Good luck!
