Yesterday morning I woke up and found a mistle thrush sitting on the
bedroom windowcill. There was a bit of condensation on the window, so it
didn't notice me, although it seemed alert but static. Half an hour
later it had turned round and was more actively alert.
When I went out shortly after that there was a thrush in the tree at the
front. I wrongly assumed it was the same thrush. But I went back
upstairs and found the original thrush still there.
An hour later it had gone.
My guess is that there was a fall of migrants, and this one was
recovering from its flight. I note that I haven't heard any today.
Yesterday, it was wet and cool. This morning frosty and sunny.
